In Children, we recommend a follow-up visit every year to make sure the custom orthotics still fit well and are providing a maximum correction. The reason for this is that children grow fast, especially during a growth spurt. At our clinic, we do not charge to verify if a child's orthotic is still functioning well. These follow-up visits are very important, and the development of the feet and lower extremity should be checked often as a child grows.

Did you know that most insurance companies reimburse part or totality of the fees associated with a pair of custom orthotics? Certain companies pay for a pair every or every second year.

Insoles For Flat Feet - Children

Plantar Fasciitis Insoles

We have an Orthotic Laboratory in our clinic for convenience and better faster service

A frequent cause of heel pain is Plantar Fasciitis and Heel Spurs. Patients in my practice mistakenly sometimes call it Planters Fasciitis. It is one of the most common foot conditions among my patients. The Plantar Fascia is a very long ligament that attaches to the bottom of the heel bone. This ligament is the principal support for the arch of the foot. It acts like a rubber band that prevents the arch from collapsing under the impact of our weight while walking or running. Heel spurs also can cause persistent heel pain as well. Heel spurs are bony outgrowths from the bottom of the heel bone. Usually, heel spurs form on the bottom of the heel where the plantar fascia attaches to the bone. Symptoms of plantar fasciitis and heel spurs are almost identical as are the causes of both of these problems. Treatments for heel spurs are very similar to treatments for Plantar Fasciitis. Most cases are resolved using conservative treatment. In 25 years of practice, we have been able to remedy about 95% of cases of Plantar Fasciitis and Heel Spurs with our custom-made orthotics. This is the most effective painless treatment for these problems. In rare cases, we add cortisone injections or minimally invasive surgery to our treatment plans.

Orthotic Follow Up Visits

Children should never have foot pain, it is not normal and especially younger ones, may not always have the words needed to explain that they are experiencing a foot problem.

We can correct a flat foot deformity in a child permanently. It is best to consult as early as possible as the child reaches adolescence it can be more difficult to correct.

Orthotics  help to relieve pain in the feet and lower extremities by aligning the joints and bones in their proper positions. Some of these problems are congenital (Flat Feet, High Arched Feet) and some are acquired later in life. Injuries, osteoarthritis, general wear and tear, metabolic conditions, and Diabetes can influence the feet and the lower extremity. A Podiatrist can diagnose the cause of the problem and take action to correct the situation and provide relief from the symptoms. We make our orthotics with a precise positive plaster cast which is exclusive for every patient. Therefore, every patient receives an Orthotic which is custom made and unique for their problem and situation. Most orthotics on the market are prefabricated and should never be confused with custom-made Orthotic Insoles.

We adapt your orthotics (custom orthotics) to meet your specific needs whether for work, sports, hiking, sandals, high heels etc. Over twenty-five years of clinical and teaching experience assures precision and accuracy in our prescription and fabrication process. Custom-made Orthotics serve to realign the 26 bones and 33 joints of each foot. This ensures good posture and proper alignment for the Ankles, Knees, Hips and Back.

To avoid injury and the development of painful problems insist on custom-made orthotics and avoid practitioners and laboratories that use prefabricated shells to construct their orthotics. Orthotics can also slow down progressive deformities such as Hallux Valgus (Bunions). Hammertoes, Arthritis, Achilles Tendinitis, Sciatica, Chronic Knee and Lower Back Pain, and Posterior Tibial Tendon Dysfunction. Every year there are gradual changes in our musculoskeletal system therefore it is important to consult before problems become chronic.
